While reminiscing about the old Reformation, Mission, and College Day celebrations at the St. Paul's College quadrangle, my brother Don mentioned that he remembered the hymn "My Church, my Church, my dear old Church..." and hadn't seen it in any recent hymnals.
If you have ever wondered about an old hymn, there is a great website at http://www.hymnary.org for researching them. In this case, go to the page http://www.hymnary.org/text/my_church_my_church_my_dear_old_church and you will find the full text along with a listing of all hymnals in which it was located. This song was found in 46 different hymnals published between about 1870 and 1960.
Clicking on the appropriate link, you will also be able to hear the song. |
