Adding new features to a website keeps it interesting. Therefore, suggestions for additions are certainly welcome. I was never a computer programmer, IT person, or Website designer by trade, but I have been known to dabble in various computer languages since the early days of FORTRAN II and assembly language. (As might be expected for an engineer.) Any ideas that are received will be considered. Some features are surprisingly easy to implement, such as overlays on Google Maps. There are a number of tools available on the Web that make development a bit simpler. I also receive assistance from my son Dave on a time-available basis.
Some things use up a considerable amount of resources, such as high-resolution photos and other image files (book scans). In these cases, I try to make use of other Web sites that provide large amounts of disk space, as was done with the old home movies. (One can only guess how long these sites will remain available.) As I've noted before, I may use a site like Flickr to store a lot of old photos. Other sites, like Panoramio, allow one to post photos tied to locations (geo-tagged). There are a number of alternatives available. [Note. Support of Panoramio was terminated ("deprecated") by Google on Nov. 4, 2016.]
So send me your ideas. I enjoy the challenge. After all, that's what this website is all about.
