In 1934, St. Paul’s published a souvenir booklet entitled “Ninetieth Anniversary, First Church Building, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church”. It contains a lot of interesting photos, some of which I had previously posted in the Photos section of this website. It also includes group photos of the Ladies Aids, the Walther League, the elementary school classes, and the confirmation class. I have posted the confirmation class picture below because there is a list of the members in the church records.
They are Herbert F. J. Aversman, Ella Flora H. Bertram, Herbert Dierker, Virgil C. A. Fricke, Lawrence E. Fuchs, Mildred M. K. Gieseke, Verna K. I. Gieseke, Harold A. A. Hinck, Florence R. I. Kalthoff, Marvin E. Kappelman, Esther K. K. Lindemann, Paula L. E. Luedeman, Helen R. M. Mahnken, Roy I. Martens, Norma S. H. K. Mevius, Fremont F. G. Meyer, Earl P. Niemeyer, Evelyn F. Schaller, Vernon H. W. Schlesselman, Raymond E. Schnakenberg, Omar T. M. Stuenkel, Herbert I. H. Wilkens, Helen M. Bergman, Claudine M. Brockman, Ellsworth F. Cassing, Nadine D. Eckles, Carl William Heilman, Louis A. Hinck, Lenice V. W. Meyer, Homer H. C. Oetting, and Vera E. O. Poese.
I recognize my cousin Marvin (Bud) Kappelman, second from the left in the front row. I believe that Helen (Hattie) Mahnken is the one on the far left of the back row. How many can you identify?
